Mulch weight changes with the product, the bag volume and the moisture it has absorbed. Two bags the same size can differ noticeably. Use the actual labeled or published weight for the specific product you're carrying when available.
Why vehicle category alone isn't enough
"Mid-size SUV" or "half-ton pickup" doesn't tell you a payload figure. Two versions of the same model can differ by hundreds of pounds once you account for trim, drivetrain and fitted equipment. Always use the number on your own vehicle's payload label.
